Kona Country Club, is a Public, 36 hole golf course facility located in KEAUHOU, Hawaii. The facility has 2 courses, the Ali'i Mountain Course and the Ocean Course.
With breathtaking panoramic views of the Kona coastline, the Mountain Course has its way of attracting beginners and advanced golfers alike. It features a cool mountain setting, manicured Bermuda greens, elevated tees, numerous bunkers and three lakes. Challenge yourself on front nine as you experience elevation changes. After reaching the crescendo, all you see is a clear blue ocean, swaying palm trees and a panoramic view from Keauhou to Kona. Take a moment on their par 3, hole #5 and #14. Both holes feature exotic drops from tee to green. Hole 14 is the highest point of the course and is the most picturesque hole. There is a waterfall surrounded by red bougainvillea and black lava rock, scenic lake and miles of ocean as far as the eye can see.
The Mountain Course is enriched in Hawaiian culture. This area was a favorite playground for Hawaiian royalties known as Alii. You'll see Hawaiian wild goats moving throughout the back nine. Golf Digest Magazine rated the Mountain Course as 4 stars and The Zagat Guide recognized it as one of the top facilities in nation.
The front nine was designed by William Bell in 1985. The back nine was completed in 1991, designed by Rodney and Nelson Wright. Surrounded by this enchanting setting, your experience on the Mountain Course will linger in your memories as a great golf experience regardless of your score.

The Mountain Course closed, along with it's sister course, The Kona Country Club Ocean Course in 2013. The Ocean Course is scheduled to reopen in December 2015. The Mountain Course has no date scheduled for reopening.
